Production points - Work in progress

Postby st0rm » Fri 21. Feb 2014, 09:33

Since there was a great debate on how one can make points and progress in this game, I decided to start working on a production points lists, that is how many points you get for producing a single item. There is a similar list on the German server forum but according to some of my calculations the numbers are not exactly right.
So here's a new one, from scratch:

bronze mask - 180 points

Woodcutter's workshop:

sculpture - 6 points

ACTIONS:
(Heroic) Dungeon - 750 points

RESEARCH:
attack strategy - the number of points is equal to the research level
defense strategy - the number of points is equal to the research level

ARMY:
Training units gives you points (it seems as though the number of points one gets for training a unit is equal to the cost of that unit divided by 10):

P.S. Any input is more than welcome. Please be advised that in order to get the points for some items you need to produce at least 10 or 100 pieces in order to get a visible change in points.

st0rm, thank you so much.

It looks like if you want lots and lots of points you build Weapons Grade Steel, Mech Stuff, and Potions.

Work toward the Labyrinth Raids. Those only give you lots and lots of points.

Click on Fortress, that is the Main Menu.

Click Successes.

Task:
Attain 90 Achievements

Click on each of these: Quests, Battle, Mech, Army, Actions, Merchants, Research, and Production.

Completing these things listed there Gain you lots and lots of Levels and points, some of them are easy, some of them are very hard and very time consuming and very expensive. Like in Quests, it will show you just how far you are along in each one.

Do the easy ones.

Save the hard expensive ones till you are rich, have many large buildings and many imps, and are very powerful.

Focusing on producing points has the unfortunate consequence of losing money. What I mean by that is - the best way for a foundry to make money is to make cobalt then sell it. But the resources used to make the cobalt could be used to make copper, bronze, steel and cobalt. Then use those resources to make weapon-grade steel, then that steel to make other components, and eventually an end product. Each additional chain of production adds greatly to point production. However, notice that the new product is worth less than the components - weapons-grade steel is worth less than the sum of its components, ball bearing is worth less than weapons-grade steel and so forth. Many chains can be made, but the conventional wisdom is not to use the chains because their goal is to maximize money, not points. But me, I chain everything.

Valken,

I am not sure I understand your "worth less" theory.

Let's look at
Weapons-grade steel Engineer
Item # Needed cost per total cost per cost of WGS
Steel 15.00 9.6 144 208.80
Copper 3.00 5.7 17.1
Bronze 3.00 7 21
Cobalt 1.00 11.7 11.7
gold 15.00 1 15

ON the Market , WGS is arounf 900 -

Ball bearing Engineer
WGS 2.00 208.8 417.6 445.60
gold 28.00 1 28

ON the Market @ 1500

Cobalt - Costs 11.7 gold to make - on the Troll market - sells from 14 to 19

And, this game is about balance.... Points and Gold. Stones make a good source of steady income.... :D

Not sure where you got your numbers from Gynde but Cobalt has a max price of 29 on Troll market(at least the max i saw), and if i understood kagen correctly he meant that if cobalt makes 11.7 gold to make it's actual cost of materials is:
7 Ore - 21 gold(sell to troll for 3g)
10 wood - (sell to troll for 0.44)
Manufacturing cost - 5g

so a total of 30.4 gold and you can increase the number to a max of 42.4 if you will sell the wood to players for 1.64g

So technically considering also that you need to acquire more imps to produce cobalt it's a waste of money but it gives you more points. That's what Valken tried to tell if i got him right.

My numbers are based off the troll market for reasons that should be obvious. On the troll market, the value of ball bearings is less than that of weapons-grade steel.

@St0rm

There is a post about this a bit down the page, there are a lot of values in there that you don't have listed yet.

That topic is on production costs, that is how many resources you need to produce something and how much does it mean in gold (the overall cost). This topic is related to how many points you get for producing something in order to help you level up.

Cobalt‘s total production cost is 11.7 gold.

The troll buys it for 14 to 30 gold.

So your gain is 2.3 to 18.3 gold per piece.

Ore is 0.8 gold to make → 5.6 gold for all 7 pieces of ore
Wood costs 0.11 gold to make → 1.1 gold for all 10 pieces of wood

Add to that the amount of 5 gold production fee

TROLL MARKET PRICES ARE NOT IDENTICAL WITH THE TOTAL PRODUCTION COSTS.

I do not understand the following, D11M:
so a total of 30.4 gold and you can increase the number to a max of 42.4 if you will sell the wood to players for 1.64g

On german server there is already a list regarding the points. But the collector decided for a max of two numbers behind the point.

D11M, where did I tell something about cobalt and its total production cost??
