Prices on the Marketplace

Postby DiannaDark » Thu 13. Mar 2014, 14:19

Prices on the Marketplace change.

Be careful that the price you pay is not lots and lots more than it cost to build an item.

Message me if you think something costs to much, I can probably get it for you a lot cheaper.

When you post to the marketplace be careful of the final cost.

You may end up with more 00000's than you thought.

The biggest problem for me with the traveling merchant is a combination of time and price. Yes, I use the traveling merchant to sell my dried fish, but I roll my eyes every time I do. At level 16/17, the traveling merchant wanders off to sell 125,000 dried fish for around 161,000g and it takes something like 120 hours. I can't sell any more dried fish until he/she returns. For me, 161,000g that I have to wait 120 hours for is not very helpful when everything I research costs more than that.

I realize that the speed of the traveling merchant is increasing as I level, but it's not really increasing to a point where it's anything very useful to me. If I could sell the dried fish some other way, I would.

This could just mean I'm spoiled rotten, though. :)

The Traveling Merchant takes forever to get back, I sell stuff there anyway, usually I am waiting on Gold for six groups of items to come back from the Traveling Merchant. I always sell Dried Fish, Crab patties, and Beer to the Troll usually Leather Belts, Leather Vests, and Leather Hats.

I sell Ore, Fish, Stones, Leather, Cobalt, Copper, and other stuff to the Troll.

I do sell some stuff on the Marketplace, pretty much, I sell Leather at 16, at 25, Steel at 30, and Cobalt at about 35, but sometimes I get impatient.

I sometimes make Crabs for the Troll, but I am usually too impatient for it to come up at the Troll and have to sell it for about 1.2 on the Marketplace.

Lately I have needed lots of Wood, Metals, and some things, and haven't wanted to sell them. That will change.

I've noticed some goods for sale on the Market that don't seem to have any purpose (beer, leather clothing, etc.). Why would people buy these things? Just in case they need extra for quests, or is there something I'm missing?

Some of this stuff is needed as Material for another production for example for a weapon. The beer in particular is needed for the competition right now.

Pay a visit to "production costs" and you will see^^

Beer, for example, is used as offering to the Oracle so the time for exploring dungeons gets shorten by 1 hour. You would need 400k of beer to bribe the greedy oracle.
Leather, on the other hand, is also used for the Oracle to expand your army capacity by another 10 units. You would need 25k of each clothing item.
Kagen's answer is also a valuable info to keep in mind. :)

Got it, thanks. I figured I was missing something. Checked the online help, and couldn't find a use for some of that stuff, but I'm nowhere near being able to view the Oracle yet, so that option didn't occur to me.

Cheers.

I know, which is why I gave you the info. Lots of items that you'll be able to build once you level up a bit require, at some point, one or two of the seemingly useless or abundant materials / items. :)
