Building Upgrade / Expansion

Postby st0rm » Sun 16. Dec 2012, 12:16

What is the purpose of expanding a building? I am referring to the raw material production buildings.
I see there is no difference in the hourly production rate. Could we assign more imps to work there? Let's say 6 imps instead of 5, for a middle size Well compared to a small size?

Cheers,

Here's what I managed to figure out: a middle size woodcutter's hut can accommodate a maximum of 15 imps compared to a small size one where only a maximum of 5 imps can work. I think the same applies for the Well and the Quarry.

Good morning!

Yes, the number of imps to put in a building depends on the size of the building. In this indirect way your production rate is also growing.

I also have a hint for you (maybe you haven't seen it yet). In our online help you find a detailed quick start guide for Days of Evil:

Hope, it helps you on your way to become even more evil

Have a nice days!

Two of everything.
Hi there, I found out that it is far cheaper to just build 2 low level buildings of each building, raw resource, ie. 2 wells, 2 farms etc. then to upgrade them. This lets you put a maximum of 10 imps to work, 5 per building and doubles production capacity cheap and pretty quickly. Also, when you do upgrade some buildings you can still build low level inventory and high level inventory at same time since you have now have two buildings. I have not constructed 3 or more of same type of buildings yet, still new to game but I assume you can have more to get even more production. Hope this helps someone out there. See you in the arena.

I recommend that you build 5, (wells, woodcutters, quarry) when you can.
Believe me it helps.
I was dumb and invested my resources somewhere else and because of that I was off to a slower start.

Here are some examples of having to expand a building as opposed to just adding another small, to be able to make the "things" which _are_ or _will be_ important to make to make "the really cool stuff".... :)

Foundry

The ore delivered by mines is used in the foundry to process the copper, bronze, steel and cobalt that serves as the basis for producing powerful weapons and equipment.

small: Copper, Bronze, Steel
middle: Copper, Bronze, Steel, Cobalt
large: Copper, Bronze, Steel, Cobalt

*********************
Stonemason

small: Statue
middle: Statue, Jug
large: Statue, Jug, Stone plaque

*********************
Engineer
small: Weapons-grade steel, gears, batteries, ball bearings
middle: Weapons-grade steel, gears, batteries, ball bearings, hydraulic pumps, chips
large: Weapons-grade steel, gears, batteries, ball bearings, hydraulic pumps, chips, motors, AI system\

************
ANd the Armorsmith, Temple, and ARmorer's Workshop, all have cool stuff the bigger you build...
I know that the Engineer one is going to be important to get through the QUests, and build stuff for the MECH.

Yess. having 4 wells and 2 wooddcutter's hut has seemed to improve my basic ability to create raw materials.

HI, I was browsing and looking for some info on the farms, and what you get from upgrading. I guess you can eventually farm new items? Such as turnips?

The same for the Fisherman's place, can you catch crabs(lol) if you upgrade?

Farm:

Maximum number of buildings: 3

small: Wheat, Herb
middle: Wheat, Herb, Grapes
large: Wheat, Herb, Grapes, Turnips

Fisherman's shack:

Maximum number of buildings: 5

small: Fish
middle: Fish, Crabs
large: Fish, Crabs

There you can find all the information on the other buildings and what you can produce if you expand.

All of your wood, stone, and water producing Buildings should be Large when you can make them Large.

You need enough Imps to keep all of them producing all the time.

If they are not producing, setting idle, you do not have enough Imps.

5 x 30 =150 x 3 = 450

You need 450 Imps to keep these buildings going all the time.

I always manufacture Fish, only to sell to the Troll for Gold

That is another 150 Imps for 5 Large Fishing Buildings.

When you start producing Metals for the Engineer and for the Armory and Armorsmith,

You need some Imps for those, anytime a building is going idle it is a bad thing.

Soon you can keep 1000 Imps busy with no trouble at all.

I have 1008 Imps, if I ever manage to keep more Gold on hand, I will buy a couple hundred more Imps.
