I am giving 1 Dark Elf and 2 Oculist advanced training.

It costs so much Gold and I have other uses for Gold.

I have a long way to go to get them all the advanced training they can have.

Guild Armies that battle, eventually, will look like Archangels and better, only the best units with the best armor and weapons and rings or necklaces if they can afford them.

When you are new to the game, I think if you were worried about Gold and your Army probably the best thing would be to buy ORCs. Give them one Advanced Training. Keep the Orcs for a very long time. Like till you are level 13 or so. Unless you can spend money here, then you can do things really fast, depending on how much you spend.

Keep the Orcs until you have the Unit of your choice researched. Something of a higher level than Bodyguard, maybe. Something with lots of attack, these guys cost lots of Gold and some materials.

Your choice. Some guys like the Battlemage, for the Gold a very good unit, and some guys like a unit that is higher, the high level units costs lots of Gold.

In the Game you can click on a player's name and then click on Army and you can look at what the guys who are highest in Battle Rankings have for an Army. Some guys have all one type unit and some guys like a diverse army. I like a diverse army because if they all look alike they look like robots or clones.

For their Equipment you need Large Armory and Large Armorsmith and the Large Raw Material Buildings it take to supply the raw materials for the weapons and armor buildings. Buying these things is too expensive. Eventually maybe you need even a Jewelry, I don't know that I will ever have one of those.

When you are new, the important thing is to be in the game every day. Go to This and That and then Are you New to the Game. Just keep doing the little things to get a bit better one day at a time.

It's a Pirate's life for me.

Count Beran from the Beastmaster is very nice, but the price is just way too much.

If you spend 300.000 to hire a High Elf and 3,000,000 to give them one Advanced Training you have practically the same thing as Count Beran for 3,300,000 Gold instead of 10,000,000. You can get Three High Elves at 2 Stars for the price of one Count Beran.

Count Beran isn't really much different than Tears of the Sun which is one tenth of the cost. He is the equal of a High Elf with three stars.

I guess he is really nice if you haven't researched any high level Units and you have lots and lots and lots of Gold.

It is always about Gold though.

For the money the BattleMage is the best cost/effect.

The ShadowRunner, the ForestDruid, and even the Skythes are very nice warriors if you want to pay more.

I love the Dark Elf and with 3 Stars they are pretty nice but very expensive for what you end up with.

The High Elf is so good with 200 Attack/70 Defense/ 150 HP, but at 300,000 she is really too expensive.

Just as the BladeMaster at 500,000 to Research him and then 500,000 each is too expensive.

Tears of the Sun
450 / 100 / 200
Cost: 1.000.000 Gold

I have stopped researching Army Units at the High Elf.

She is the best I want for now.

I will not research any more units for a very, very long time.

I finally have some Blademasters in training, and researching Wanand. : )

I think it's a poor strategy to decide on some middle-level unit that is your "favorite" and to get lots of those and keep them for a long time. Having a strong army and making it stronger is the main point and goal of the game. You should want to gradually increase your army's strength all the time. You don't ever stop and think that they're good enough, until you have 60 Tears/Raleshils in your army.

Of course at higher levels they start to get really expensive and you need to make some careful decisions there. There's no point in getting too many expensive units when in the near future you're going to dismiss them to make room for better units.

When I had researched Battlemages and Forest Druids, I got quite a few of them (12-20?) because they had good strength for a reasonable price. Upwards from Forest Druids, I've been replacing units more slowly. The general rule has been to replace the weakest units with units that have circa 200% the strength (not that I replace ALL of them, but having 2 times the strength is a requirement for replacing).

I don't remember exactly anymore but this may have been one example: I had two level 3 Alchemists (110 total points each) and two level 2 Argeus' (126 points) and replaced them with four Skythes (230 points).

Another: had level 3 Orcs (153 points), replaced with Magma Lords (300 points).

Thank you, Akadria.

I don't know I will get a higher warrior than High Elf.

I have stopped researching higher units. It is too expensive for now.

You are right of course, if you want to win in battles, you need the best warriors, the best armors, the best weapons, and you need Rage Potions or Improved Rage Potions.

For me, I don't want to spend the Gold and Materials for my Army now, I am doing other things.

Merry Christmas.

No, you don't need rage potions. You need the best possible things you can equip to the potion slot. I have a bunch of "improved" potions because they have a lot of points, and all other units have Stoneskin Potions, because those give 65 points, while Rage and Healing give only 50.

PvP battles are just one thing, you need a stronger and stronger army to advance in the main story/quest line, defeat bosses, and raid difficult dungeons.

Akadria, thank you so much.

I equiped my guys with not so much attack with Rage potions and my guys with not so much defense with Stoneskin potions.

I will have two Big Bertha's in 18 hours, that will help.

:)

When dealing with similar weapons (as total number of points) but one of them has higher ATK points, I would go for that since you get 5% ATK bonus when your army has 100% morale. ;)

Cheers,
