Welcome new players!
Hopefully you will find that Days of Evil is the best browser game out there as I have.

Let me start with a few disclaimers.
1) This is not a complete walkthrough, I am working on that.
2) I have not reached level 25 yet so I do not have all the answers.
Okay, now for the important parts.
First, thank you for all the other players who took time out to post stuff on this forum, without them these tips could not be available.
What I have done here is to pull together all the tips, advice and suggestions from all the players, the entire forum, the online help and my own experience. You will take what you want from here and have your own game of Days of Evil. However, these should help you from pulling out all your hair and or getting gray hairs while you wait, and wait and wait.
1) If you have found your way to the forum and are reading this please take a moment to register so you too can post things.
2) Read the online help section available in the game a few times, there are lots of really helpful things there. Take out a piece of paper and make notes, read it a few times.
3) Read the entire forum, I might have missed something or I am sure that more good stuff has been posted here as well.
4) Do not be afraid to ask questions, lots of questions, we have a good group of helpful players here.
5) Learn how to navigate the game, your fortress is your starting place, I will always tell you to go there first.
6) Come up with your own daily routine and stick with it.
7) First rule, login in every single day, do not miss a day or your login counter will reset. You get some free goodies, and after 30 days a chance to get valuable souls, every time you login.
8) When you first start out you are weak, your fortress and army are tiny, you have no equipment for the few guys you do have, and very few workers. That is just the way it is.
9) Do not run out of fuel for you mech. Your mech is one of the strongest units you can have in this game but if his gas tank is empty you can no longer go on raids. So make sure you have at least 100 units in your inventory at all times. I recommend you make a distillery and upgrade it and a farm that you upgrade it up to a large so you can start making your own fuel early on in the game.
10) You will need serfs to train in order for your army to increase and grow more powerful. You will find serfs in the raids. Go to Fortress then actions and select raids. I recommend you find a way to login twice a day and send your army out on 2 8 hour raids. That way you have 8 chances to find a serf, 2 times a day.
11) Your army can have up to 50 units, 60 later on if you use the oracle, as well as epic units you find, earn or buy. That means you will need 50 weapons, 50 armor/helms, 50 potions and 50 jewelry (rings and necklaces), as well as equipping your epic units. It is a good idea to hang on to the gear you find in your raids until you can make your own or buy off the marketplace.
12) To gain levels you need points. You gain points from producing things in your buildings and doing quests. You also gain gold and points from completing achievements. Take a moment and go to Fortress then to success. Here you find all of things you can do to get achievements. These are long term goals and you will not be able to do them overnight.
13) Gold is very valuable and you never have enough of it. You gain gold from going on raids and selling things. There are 3 places to sell things, the market, the troll market and the traveling merchant. Go to Fortress then trade and take a moment to look at each one. When you reach level 10 there are an additional 36 items you can sell for a profit off the troll market so it is important to try to get to 10 sooner than later.
14) Quests are very important, this is where you find the “story” of the game, as well as daily quests. You will find early on the daily quests are hard to get done every day but as your kingdom grows you can get more done.
15) In the early days your army is less important than your buildings. Read and reread and then reread again the online section for buildings and products. Make notes on what you want to produce and where each item is made. I recommend you make 2 woodcutters, 2 wells and 2 quarries as soon as you can to get those basic building blocks, wood, water and stone you need to start making buildings.
16) Those cute, lazy imps. You never have enough of them. I recommend you buy at least 1 a day. Go to Fortress then trade then imp dealer. Yep, they are 5000 gold each, expensive in the beginning but you will not get far without them in this game.
17) Make sure you do your 10 arena battles every day. Yes, you are weak and you will lose more than you win. As you gain strength you will start to win more. This gives you honor which you can use to buy things from the elite merchant.
There you have it, I am sure I missed some things. I am sure you will have your own great ideas and experiences. This is a great game and very exciting, challenging and rewarding all at once. Enjoy being Evil.
