if an army is in a portal does that mean there is no-one to defend a territory?
HOw are Army units assigned

There does not seem to be any notes on this.

Not sure about what you meant with "how are army units assigned" but the guild army does defend even if they are on a portal.

Hmm...

I meant, :D , If I send an army out in a portal, who is defending any held territories?

It _could_ make sense that if all your army is on a portal raid, then no-one is guarding your territories and an overally much weaker 40 units _could-possibly_ challenge and win a territory...

Hawk's Guild attacked and won a Territory from Death's Behest.

I can't see any way our Army would be stronger than anyone's army.

Very late last night under cover of darkness and fog, the lightly armored Guild Army of Hawk's in a daring and swift raid surprised Watchman's superior forces and conquered a Territory on the Mainland.

For now the pirates of Hawk's Guild are raking in the plunder and celebrating.

Drink up me hearties, yo ho.

It's a pirate's life for me.

lol grats dianna :)

I think army strength decreases the longer a guild has a territory. That makes sure there's lots of change in the territory part.

Hmmm..

I am seeing Guilds loss territories to guilds that have no chance in the arena to beat the holding guild. In fact has never beaten them in the Arena and the totals are 1/2 of the other force.

So there MUST be some factor which determines it.
SInce the rules for DoE are so sketchy, there is not a clue in any of the material.

Uiqua, what determines how battles are fought in the territory? IS it ferocity? Is it the case that if a guild is on a Portal raid, then no one is "home" to defend?
