Interesting.
I play on the German Server too.

I landed in 1st place - having fought 96 fights, done 23,696,620 damage and received 9217 glory points


On the German server the number 1 had to fight 132 fights ( 36 more than I), do 58,101,349 damage ( 34,404,729 more damage than I) and received 9118 glory points ---- 99 LESS POINTS....

Yeah, probably not worth all the time, gold, souls, and loss of gear and gold, in this endeavor.

I will rethink my strategy if there is a next time.

The current formula for awarding the glory points takes into account the multiplier and your ranking.
It would be nice to actually take into account the number of fights and the total damage. I know they are considered to rank players but it would be better to directly influence the glory points in order to avoid strange situations like the following:

During the last hours of phase 3, I was on the 3rd place together with Sneugle and mebreasta. Once phase 3 was over I suddenly ended on 6th place. It came as a surprise but I didn't mind because this is the first event of its kind and I am sure it'll get better in the future.

Well the first place gets bonus 1000 glory points, so it's something to fight. The other rankings not so much. It wouldn't matter much if you're 5th or 10th, it's only 415 glory points difference.
Storm, those who had already started an attack on the WB and they hadn't finished it yet, it simply added that when the event ended, thus the mess up in ranks.

There's a few good things that went well with this event and a couple not so much.
The amount of people with 1 attack and over 2000 glory points is too high. If this is an event where everyone has to work together, then the calculations shouldn't be done on the rank position, but performance. Number of attacks done and overall damage.

Explaining a little bit further why the current formula is flawed and my suggestion could actually work better.

First create a glory points pool. For every player participating in the event it adds 2000 glory points.
There were 93 participants, 93 * 2000 = 186.000 total glory points

Calculation of glory points on number of attacks:
2386 attacks in total -> 2386 / 100 = 23.86 (with this we calculate performance of each player)

Doing calculations for 3 different ranking members:

1st place Gendy - 96 attacks -> 96 / 23.86 = 4.023470243 % of all attacks
31st place FloriBa - 26 attacks -> 26 / 23.86 = 1.089689858 %
72nd place SmokeRises - 1 attack -> 1 / 2.86 = 0.041911148 %

Calculation of glory points on damage done:
313.800.760 total damage -> 313800760 / 100 = 3138007.6

Again as above:

1st place Gendy -> 23669620 / 3138007.6 = 7.542881668 % of all damage
31st place FloriBa -> 1731400 / 3138007.6 = 0.551751372 %
72nd place SmokeRises -> 877 / 3138007.6 = 0.000279477 %

And for the final calculation we add up the percentages from both:

1st place Gendy -> 11.56635191 -> (186.000*11.5) / 100 = 21390 glory points
31st place FloriBa -> 1.64144123 % -> (186.000*1.65) / 100 = 3069 glory points
72nd place SmokeRises -> 0.042190625 % -> (186.000*0.04) / 100 = 75 glory points

Why this works better? Those who put in the most work get the most rewards.
Those with armies not strong enough, can put in the extra work on number of attacks.
Those with armies strong enough, get rewarded for their hard work.
And those who do both, get rewarded the most.
Ofcourse, if something like this were to be implemented, there should be something done on the soul vs no soul player.

Well, I think the most important point of the fight was the number of attack, not the power of your army.
In your suggestion, the power of the army is stronger and I think it was not develloper's wants.

To be honest, I think the distribution is unfair : in french rank, those who fight the most(top 10) has a shorter ratio than the other : in top 50, the two worst ratio(point/NB attack) are the first and the fourth.
Why using so much soul for this type of reward ?

I'm finish 3. The next time, I will probably be 10, the reward difference is not really big.
