The numbers are what you make before and after the deposit? As in the charges?

The prices the traveling merchant offers change each day for each item. If you sell, you lock in the price at the time you sell. I think the two numbers given here are the lowest and the highest that had been seen at the traveling merchant. You can use them to give you an idea of whether to sell now or wait for a better price (unless you really don't care and just want to get rid of your darn dried fish).
