Work at doing your Quests.
Use your resources to build your buildings, expand your buildings, do your quests and build up your army, buy a serf or two when you can.
Make your Army, your Armors, your Weapons better when you are able.
Play the Game and have fun, after all, it is just a Game.
Time.
Time is what it takes to have all Large Buildings and a Great Army and over 1,000 Imps.
That is all it takes, hours and hours and hours, like it takes to be really, really, really good at anything.

I have no idea what Trade is, mabye you can buy from the Marketplace but not sell stuff. The Marketplace is listed as a Level 6 thing. You can build stuff with the few buildings and imps you start with.
3 Grim Goon 1.001 - 5.000 Battle (PvP)
Now you can battle other players, finally.
4 Brutal Suppressor 5.001 - 15.000 Troll market, Inventory
Now you can see what you have and Sell stuff to the Troll. Buy from the Troll, don't buy from the Marketplace if the Items there are higher than the Troll Price. Don't sell on the Marketplace Cheaper than the Troll Price.
5 Grasping Liege 15.001 - 40.000 Quests, Imp dealer, Shop, Soul dealer
You can finally buy Imps, You can do Quests, You can visit the Shop and Soul Dealer.
6 Reprobate Ringleader 40.001 - 60.000 Marketplace, Contracts, Dungeons, Research
Now you can build stuff and Sell stuff on the Marketplace. You can sell stuff to other guys in the Game with Contracts. You can send your army into the Dungeons. You can Research Army Types, Mech Equipment, faster Construction.
7 Unscrupulous Commandant 60.001 - 100.000 Daily Special, Maritimers, Construct / Upgrade buildings
Now you can build and upgrade your buildings and you get a daily special you can buy if you have Souls. You can Gamble at the Maritimers, I don't I had horrible luck there and I quit.
8 Bloodthirsty Barbarian 100.001 - 150.000 Competition, Announcement, Successes, Trophy case, Find player
Finally you can donate to the Competiton, Make Announcements by spending 2 Souls, you can see your Trophy case - keep every item you get other than the Competition prizes of those, keep one Gold Coin, trade everything else for Wood or Souls or whatever, Now you can Find a Player. If you go to
Successes are the things you have to do the Achievements you need to get to Level 25.
9 Wicked Prince 150.001 - 220.000 Beast master
Now you can buy Warriors from the Beastmaster at the Marketplace.
